A selection of carbines and standard (SMGs) sub-machine guns are available for the backing of the support classes in the 3rd Battlefield game. It is also likely to be centered on guns that are popular in the past Battlefield competitions.

45 UMP

It is made by a German and is short for “Universal Machine Pistol”. It is broadly used as sub machine gun all over the countries, and is much known to anti-terrorist forces and policemen. It has been shown to some of the Battlefield games and will be back in the 3rd Battlefield game.

74U AKS

This AKS 74U is constructed basing on the AK-47 model. Compared to AK-47 model it has a lighter accessories and a smaller barrel. For Special Forces in Russia, it is the lead carbine. It was introduced in Battlefield 2 and Bad Company 1 & 2 games, and will be back in BF3 as the lead carbine of the Middle East and Russian forces.

FN SCAR-L

It is a fully silenced automatic carbine rifle that was first featured in the Special Forces expansion for BF2, and has ever since it appeared in the Bad Company 1 & 2 games. It will be back in the BF3 as an unlock.

UZI

This popular SMG is an Israeli made and have been used all over the countries, whether criminals or law enforcers. Since 1950, it is in use until today. Its role is an unlock in a few Battlefield games and in will be in the same role in Battlefield 3.

P90 FN

It was featured and known in 1990 and is well-known as a Submachine gun to anti-terrorist group and Special Forces. It is widely used all over the world in SWAT forces, armies and policemen. The P90 FN was previously introduced in BF2, and will come back in Battlefield 3.
